Expose the deeds... not the weeds.

John 3: 17-20
17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.[c] 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

I find it interesting that so often when we do something wrong, our instinct is to bury it. Look at Moses.. He killed an Egyptian and tried to bury him in the sand... Surprisingly, we do this almost instinctively. We get thoughts that come, almost unbidden, to us saying "no one will ever accept/love/look up to you now, you are such a failure." We think that maybe, just maybe, if we hide what we have done, then we don't have to deal with the consequences.

God says in Deuteronomy that He is holding "life and death, blessings and curses." You are living, or dying, choosing life is what God asks us to do. Why in the world do we choose death and try to hide the fact that we are dying?

Let's begin exposing our sin, allowing God to hold us accountable to himself and to each other. Lets stop burying sin and start burying the devil's schemes to uproot and control our lives...
think about it...
