The state of the Church-Colossians 1...

Be assured that from the first day we heard of you, we haven't stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to his will, and so acquire a thorough understanding of the ways in which God works. We pray that you'll live well for the Master, making him proud of you as you work hard in his orchard. As you learn more and more how God works, you will learn how to do your work. We pray that you'll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.

13-14God rescued us from dead-end alleys and dark dungeons. He's set us up in the kingdom of the Son he loves so much, the Son who got us out of the pit we were in, got rid of the sins we were doomed to keep repeating.
Colossians 1:9-14

have you ever felt a rattle, or heard a squelch in your car? My car right now is squealing when I start it up either due to a loose belt, or else maybe some lower fluid for the power steering block. When the car is out of tune we just know it, we can feel it.

What is interesting is how we don't sense when we are out of tune with the Holy Spirit! Our spirits are de-tuned and we don't feel a thing! I think the main reason behind this problem is due to the constant bombardment of sin in our world today. When Adam and Eve first ate the fruit, they were so intimately aware of their disconnect with God that they made fig leave coverings and tried to hide from God. Most would say, "well when we are naked, we should hide, its indecent." But God's response was "who told you that you were Naked?" What a response! God knew them so intimately, that it didn't matter to him that they were naked. But it mattered to them all of a sudden. The presence of Sin in our lives clouds our connection with God. Its like trading HIGH SPEED internet for 28.8k modem speeds! We were designed to handle more!

However, Paul says, " We haven't stopped praying for you, asking God to give you wise minds and spirits attuned to HIS will!" (Col. 1:9)

Later Paul hints that the closer we get to God, the clearer it is what we need to do. Today, ask God to make you spiritually attuned to His will for your life. Instead of praying, God can you.. pray God whatever you want, I'll do it.
