Strongholds in the wilderness

1 Samuel 23:14-18
14 And David stayed in strongholds in the wilderness, and remained in the mountains in the Wilderness of Ziph. Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand. 15 So David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life. And David was in the Wilderness of Ziph in a forest.[a] 16 Then Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose and went to David in the woods and strengthened his hand in God. 17 And he said to him, “Do not fear, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you. You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you. Even my father Saul knows that.” 18 So the two of them made a covenant before the Lord. And David stayed in the woods, and Jonathan went to his own house.

Maturity is being able to admit when times are tough. So let me do the single hardest thing I have ever done. I am going to out myself. Right now, I feel quite a bit like I am in a wilderness spiritually. I haven't invested much time in all of it. I get very frustrated on an almost daily basis. I am not allowing the spirit to guide and drive me. In Short, I am human. But what God is impressing upon me is that I have to go back to my wilderness stronghold and find refuge under His protection. I am choosing to run there and be there until I can get out of the wilderness. If you are one of the people I have been in contact with and I have been as rough as an un-sanded board, I was wrong to be that way. Just know that I am working on it. I want you to know that it is never to late to run to the stronghold. Allow the presence of Abba father to fill you, cry if you need to cry, repent if you need to repent, but when you leave that stronghold for the destiny God has prepared for you remember you have been given all you need. God put you in a forest, not to confuse you, not to throw you off the trail, but to protect you, to shelter you from stray darts that seek to end your life. God put you in this wilderness place because he knew you could handle it.

If you are like me and today you would say that you have been in a very dry place spiritually, it is ok. God still loves you, Jesus did die for you, and you haven't ruined the destiny and plan God has for you. James says that when we draw near to God He draws near to us. Do some drawing near today.
